CFW Day # 1

Once again we are in Copenhagen to follow the latest in the Scandinavian fashion scene. There are so much happening and we would love to do everything, but we only have so much time to do it.

Stine and I start the day by visiting different fashion fairs and say hello to the Norwegian brands before heading back to the hotel to meet a representative of Freya Olsen.

Out first show of the day is Wood Wood which has made a name for itself in Denmark. Very popular brand among young people. The show was at an overheated gallery – no thanks to the many spotlights on full power. I thought the show itself was pretty good. Definitely not high fashion – Wood Wood is casual clothes for the young and trendy mind.

DSC_4937_250px.jpgAfter Wood Wood, we rush of to see Bruunz Bazaar. But guess what? The show was not at City Hall – and we managed to miss it. But according to other photographers and fashion magazines, we didn’t miss much. Compared to the February collection, this collection was weak and boring.

Around now it’s starting to rain. For some reason we though Denmark was a sunny place. But after speaking to a few locals, we hear that Denmark is actually quite a wet place. Therefore we are in for a surprise when we see that Munthe plus Simonsen is having her fashion show outdoors. Most of the seats are under garden tents but not the ones in front of the catwalk. They easily solve this problem by running to the nearest store grabbing all the umbrellas they have. So now I’m a proud owner of a very large Henri Lloyd umbrella. I think her collection is alright, but it’s not my style. And it didn’t help that it was pouring down and the press stand for the photographers was two meters from the ground.

One guy that caught my eye on the show, was a man dressed in leather from top to toe. I think even his umbrella was of leather. I knew I’ve seen him before and my mind was racing to remember from where. Then it came to me- it was from a story CNN had on fashion. From what I was told, he is an US millionaire with big interest in fashion. Sadly I never got the time to talk to him. Maybe next time.

Standing out

If you know who this man is, please let me know.
