Baltak og Selvig
The doors opened at 8P.M, and Galleri Riis was ready to welcome the audience of Batlak & Selvig’s new collection.

After walking up two stairways we finally entered a big white room. To everyone’s surprise there was no catwalk or no living models, just a lot of white mannequin dolls standing lined up wearing the designers clothes! It was set up in a way that made it possible for the audience to walk around the dolls. This was unique in a way because it made it possible to take a look at the clothes from every angle.

The clothes had a classic silhouette, inspired by the sixties. The length of the dresses was right above the knee or shorter. In some of the designs the waist was marked with a thin belt and some of the clothes had very unique knitted collars. We did also see shorts and feminine blouses, these trends are still very much alive.

The most outrageous design was a mini-dress that showed the dolls naked bum, this could be a piece of fashion for those who dare to show some skin. The colors presented in the collection where dominated by pastels, but there were also colors like bright orange. We did also see patterns like brocade, glitter and see-through-fabrics mixed with thicker fabrics.

The Norwegian Crown Princess, Mette Marit, where one of the fabolous guests spottet at Batlak & Selvigs.

This was a special and different kind of show, and Baltak & Selvig really showed us how thin the line between fashion and art is.
