Pia Haraldsen for Agape

These last few days, the critics has brought out their double headed axe and started chopping down Pia even before she entered the catwalk.

Many believe that it’s too easy for celebrities to launch a collection, and the debate has been heated about if Pia can call herself a designer.

Moods of Norway designer, Simen Staalnacke, didn’t have any particular expectations about the show, but thought that it would be very glamorous, as that is what Pia Haraldsen is known for.

The theme for the collection was love and affection, and was mainly party- and formal wear. Pia Haraldsen has received a lot of attention for her debut as a designer for Agape, and the pressure was on for tonights show.

She had a large collection with many dresses, but there were also some jumpsuits which stood out from the rest of the collection. The dresses were colourful and the fabrics used were lace and velvet. Pia wanted the pieces to make people happy by wearing them, which is some of the reason she has chosen to use lots of colours and sparkle.

The show obviosuly attracted a few celebrities, and one of the guests that had an opinion about the show was “My boobs are OK” singer and former model Lene Alexandra Øien. She thought the collection would do well on the countryside, as it might not be exactly what people in the bigger cities would choose. “It’s not really my style, but I’m sure someone else would really like it”. Øien said that she didn’t really have any expectations about the show, but came to it with an open mind. Herself wore a beautiful dress from Veloriua Vintage.

  1. Haha, "do well on the countryside"... Sweet Lene Alexandra said the most positive thing she could think of;)
  2. Why have you fixed the lighting in the photos? And left out the fact that one of the models had to hold up her dress so it wouldn't fall off her? This "collection" was a horrible misjudgement on the behalf of both OFW and Agape. The textiles look cheap, the dresses do not fit, the seamworks were subpar and her love of the 90's makes most of this look like bad costumes for a 90's party.
  3. I would have become quite a show if the red dress fell down :op But yeah, this is something they should have noticed during fitting.

I adjust light and contrast in all my catwalk images.
  4. Hehe, I think you're right about that, it would have been quite a show;) Could I ask what tool you used on the photos? Is it just downing the lights and softening it with a hint of blurring?
  5. Yup, pretty close to that :)
  6. Pia's collection was soooo bad to watch I literally went home with a headache after the show. I don't care much about her designs because she's not a designer, and obviously does not have the talent nor skills.. but come on- you don't need to be a genius to understand the difference between GOOD fit and BAD fit.. Most of the garments looked cheap and tacky with EXTREMELY bad fit and poor execution.
  7. Lena Øiens comment is as ridiculous as she is.
A slight and remote chance she will ever be close to being fashionable or having good taste. Her comment is simply belitteling approx. 80% of our population.
That being said, Pia's collection did not appeal to me either. I always felt she was overrated. But she is a debutant, and should be given the same slack as other "newbie" designers.
OFW gained exactly what they wanted; a lot of press. Much more than they otherwise would.
