Helene Westbye`s debut collection was spring/summer 2011. She had immediate success. Her silver shoe became a media-favourite. We expect 2012 to be another year of success.

In the AW12 collection the new tuxedo-shoe scream for attention – a shoe that looks like the shirtfront of a tuxedo will probably make headlines.

The stiletto will be admired because of the optical illusion of longer, slimmer legs. Helene Westbye`s stiletto boot are extremely sexy with the characteristic zipper.

She uses different types of leather, such as cowhide and lambskin. Some of the shoes had tassels which is predicted to be big this year. In addition to shoes, she also produced bags of the same materials.

In her new collection we also find kitten heels, stilettos, boots, and sandals with thin straps or braided straps. She showed us that pointed toes are hot, however booties and sandals will still continue to have rounded toes mostly.

Shoes are definitively objects of woman`s desire. We’ve always been wired for shoe. The colour scheme was white, eggplant, burgundy, beige, brown and black.

Match your Helene Westbye`s 2012 shoes with sparkling glitter stones on the heels with crystal earrings, rings, pendants and bracelets, also signed Helene Westbye.

Now that you know the upcoming shoe trends from Helene Westbye 2012, go grab some of these elegant or tough beauties and be the first one to flaunt the shoe trend this season. Now the shoes are sold in 21 stores in Norway.

The collection called “Cocktail Mountaineering” showed a new side to the fast growing fashion house. Multiple styles neatly organized in bulk appearances on the catwalk took the audience on a timeline trip from traditional wear in Norwegian mountains, to simplistic dresses and diamonds as of 1920s, smoky typists’ á la the 70s and back to modern outdoor wear anno 2012. It was obvious that a lot of effort has now been put down on raising the woman’s wear to the same top notch level as the brand’s men’s wear.

-We have produced this collection with quality materials like skin and similarities, so it hurts a bit in the wallet. However, it adds a more sophisticated touch to the garments and it looks better, says Peder Børresen to side2.no.

After seeing dresses and suits with tidy and clean cut, in addition to playful patterns on blouses and skirts, it’s only fair to say that the designers has yet again struck home.

This is a line were the architecture of the woman holds the main focus. It’s all about refining the silhouette of the body’s shape, and to create volume where the woman’s body is naturally voluminous.

-We like to make clothes that follow the body in a smooth way without being too tight or too loose. Our garments are a tribute to the woman and they enhance the body in a natural and beautiful way. It is important that we create harmony between the garment and the person wearing it, we want our clothes to represent a strong woman, says Eva Emanuelsen, designer behind Epilogue.

Classy, clean cuts, dark colors and contrasts are the main characteristics to describe the collection. Long skirts in plissé, jacket, coat and west in black fur, as well as a black leather skirt combined with a blouse in same material were outstanding pieces. In addition there were a few garments in fuchsia color, contrasting the collection’s dark colors.

-As with any autumn/winter collection, we tend to go for the dark colors. However, we always shade a collection in various tones. It’s not just all black. I like to play with the colors and I always intend to have some pieces in contrasting colors to make it exciting.

Emanuelsen also says that in a tight market it is important not to only focus on the artistic perspective of the design.

-At the end of the day, sales are what keep the business running. I have to know the market and adapt my design towards what is actually demanded by potential customers. Thereafter I try to make a personal twist of the trends, making sure clients find my design original yet not too far out there. It has been some tough years with the previous and now ongoing economic crisis, but fortunately Epilogue has been stable during it all.

We asked the stylist Storm Pedersen of his opinion about the collection.

-I love it! It is clean, pretty and simplistic. I assume the material utilized is of high quality, and the cutting is fantastic. As I have been living in New York for the last years, I am not familiar with Epilogue yet, but this event has given me a very good first impression. I have to repeat it; clean and pretty!

Another guest that dropped in on the event was Ørnulf Høyer, the owner of luxury boutique chain Høyer.

-This looks very good in general. I like that it is a little tougher and rougher than before, it’s not mainstream at all. Of course I need to see the whole collection to have a full opinion of it, but I like what I see so far. We are continuously expanding our company and we enjoy following a Norwegian brand with success.

The down-to-earth designer and her co-workers seem to be calm and in control of the growing business, and with the phosphorous words from people in the industry, a bright future might just lie ahead for this fashion house.

And Nordic Hope it was, Line of Oslo showed a collection inspired by the 1970s peace and love spirit, in combination with Nordic culture such as healthy, natural and democratic values.

The spectacular show opening consisted of several ice dancers dressed in the collection’s fluffy, dark colored jackets wearing feathers on their heads like indian tribe leaders, skating down the runway in an amazingly fast pace while ice dancing.

The models entered the runway showing us what Line of Oslo has to offer this fall. Knitting, light colors and flat shoes were key words for the collection, although what started out as romantic chic style turned later in the direction of rock before finalizing in ethnic retro by the end of the show. Biker boots, black fur, short dresses in square pattern, animal print blouses, slim jeans, the 70s jeans, bib and brace jeans and hats were all making an appearance at the runway. Line of Oslo showed in other words a great variety in terms of styles for the AW12 collection, something which is grounded in the designer’s strong believe in designing for all women.

–We want everyone to feel good about themselves, in all shapes and forms, Line Jeanette Varner says to Oslo Fashion Week magazine.

The show was wrapped up by ice dancers entering the runway once again, this time in pastel colored, wool sweaters, dancing in snow falling down. Line of Oslo presented a fabulous show for her AW12 collection and we are excited to see what next she will come up with.

- I wanted to get that whole snowy, crystal ball spirit as a frame for the show. You know the one where you can see a whole landscape covered in snow, all in a little ball. That was the idea behind the snowfall on the catwalk, says designer Kristine Vikse.

The collection consisted of garments inspired by Nordic children’s literature such as the stories of Emil, Madikken and Tjorven as well as the designer’s own childhood memories. In addition to some “princess wear” such as ballet skirts and angel wings, the runway was mainly dominated by shirts with squares, sixpence hats for the boys and cardigans, dresses and stockings in wool for the girls. This indicated Vikse’s preference of traditional, countryside wearing.

-There is an old farm in Haugesund, the town which I’m from, that always inspire me tons when I design this children’s line. That is also why I always use the color combination of dusty pastels where variations of grey and brown colors are mainly in focus.

MeMini is a line that lets children be children. This is the main objective when Vikse designs and she puts a lot of effort down on quality utilizing the special woolba material. She also makes sure that the clothes are comfortable to wear.

-I think of my own childhood and want that heritage to be passed on to today’s children. It is important that a garment keeps the child warm and at the same time that it is able to move and play in it. I am not a designer who looks at what is trendy or what is in the fashion picture at the time when I design for children. The most important is to let children be children, and dress them thereafter. By offering this line to the market, I hope to reach out to as many people as possible with this message.

All in all one can state that MeMini’s Nordic Nostalgia is a true fairy tale collection of joyful childhoods.

Kristine Vikse showed a romantic collection where the 70’s utility meets the Nordic nomad. With references from the 40′s where traditional work-wear meets glamour.

As an inspiration for this seasons collection, Vikse has found inspiration in and the Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and legendary actress Katharine Hepburn

The collection showed straight and simple silhouettes and slightly A-line shaped dresses. Knitted dresses, oversized cardigans, kaftans, maxi dresses and the basic line in merino wool was dominant in the collection.

Dresses and blouses from woven viscose combined with coarse knitted cardigans and high heels made it all very simple but still very feminine.

The colors that characterized the collection was mostly burned earth tones, mahogany, denim blue, and mint green, gray and black. Even some dip- dye effects on maxidresses.

The children collection, Little cupcaces opened the show doing acrobatics and dancing down the catwalk. The collection was filled with onepieces, tights and knitted garments with scary ghost prints, pastel colors, stripes and bows in true Fam style.

The synth-electro band Tomorrow we move to Hawaii and a fashion film by Marie Kristensen kicked off a more wearable adult collection than we have seen in previous collections from Fam.

It was characterized by ghost prints, mucus, pastel colors as light pink and mint green. Knitted sweaters and dresses combined with tulle skirts, big 3D monsters and the new collaboration shoes: Platform sneakers.

The show was playful and fun filled with classic hits from the 80s as Ghostbusters.

CALA & JADE was established by the Norwegian design duo Nina Amble Sandaas and Tina C. Skaar. They met while studying three years at ESMOD fashion school in Oslo

CALA & JADE, women’s alter ego represents the interaction between two fictional characters CALA, refined, original and sensual and JADE, edgy, androgynous and playful.

- It is really good to be awarded. We have worked hard with the Cala & Jade collection. We get a lot of our inspiration for the shape, lines and details of the geometric architecture, art and styles such as Art Deco and the stilj.

They also find inspiration in people on the street and with nature. Music and movies are also important impression to the mood and colours.

It is not enough looking good. Nina Amble Sandaas and Tina C. Skaar want the bags and accessories in their collections to implement functionality.

- It is a lot of thinking behind the structure and functions of CALA & JADEs products.

This is what they feel separates them from other handbag brands. Our main model is a good example of this. Cala & Jade’s bestseller, Gumma, has innovative functions that provide multiple bags in one.

A detachable leather frame makes that the inner bag can be replaced to suit your mood, style or season.

-In our Summer 2012 collection we introduces our Cala & Jade a mini version of the Gumma: The model Gumini. The mini version has the same innovative features and capabilities. Another examples are the new clutch. It can be clutch, ipad sleeve or makeup bag.

Quality materials and craftsmanship is an important part of CALA & JADE. Among others they uses quality leather from Scandinavia and Italy.

In SS12 AND AW12 collection they also use the material, skin from, Nordic salmon

- a fascinating and environmentally friendly material.

Cala & Jade turns bad to good using a material that traditionally hits the garbage- can.

- The award means a lot to us. Nåløyet is the most important prize in Norwegian Fashion.

The brand was established in 2008 and now sells in Norway and internationally, particularly in Japan.

Your body speaks volumes, even when you are silent. The Japan inspired outside are beautiful and silent in classical colours. The Man wearing it does the talking. Nothing wrong with traditional rainwear but it is mainly for sports.

If you choose rainwear from Norwegian Rain you don´t have to be the yellow guy.

-We get a lot of feedback from satisfied customers. Many report that their rain jacket gets much attention. Among other things they like the fact that Norwegian Rain look past the trendy patterns and bright colors.

They don’t compromise on quality. The materials are organic cotton and recycled polyester from Japan, and jackets are lined with a breathable membrane on the inside. It is waterproof and the seams are sealed.

The style and the clothes look tailor-made. High-tech item is not in focus, you will not think that there is a rain coat. The collection fits everyone from the biker to the businessman. What about wearing the Raincho – a quirky and sculptural contrast to the suit or just an airy and comfortable wear of functionable clothing. The two inner bike handles makes it an interesting alternative to urban bicyclers. The Storm Flap is made with cashmere lining for ultimate comfort on cold and windy days.

The collection consists of jackets and coats for men. If it is pouring rain outside. – don´t be sad. Norwegian Rain Makes Everything Better. You don`t need bright colours to shine.

In February they release a preview of the new women’s model. As a test Norwegian Rain will offer 40 raincoats for women in 2012. Twenty of them will be sold in Norway and the other twenty will be sold in Tokyo.

In most of the collection, he has used vicuñia, the world’s most exclusive alpaca wool. He will create something that looks like fur, but do not kill animals. The designer has chosen OFW because of their ban on fur.

-I am inspired by The Empire Of The Sun. It is characteristic that it has a touch of gold.

The models look hot in leather and stunning in gold. There is no conflict between the raw and the elegant look. In pieces from Genaro Rivas you can have it both.

Maybe the Norwegians have seen the sun.

-I feel warm in the cold in Norway. People are so warm, says Genaro Rivas.

O, yes. We do feel the sun.
