A tribute to the elder
Small, intimate and without celebrity factor, Fam Irvoll hosts a vibrating fashion show and proofs that you do not need a red carpet, press wall or a fancy catwalk in order to give the audience what they want.

This season Fam Irvoll had decided to show her main collection at the upcoming London Fashion Week, but was not about to let her Norwegian fans down. It’s the smallest show Fam Irvoll has hosted since Norwegian Fashion was established, but by far the best show so far on this Oslo Fashion Week. This shows that designers can have low key fashion show but still capture the audience. It’s all about who attends the show, who walks down the runway on how you present the collection.

This time Fam Irvoll showed a tribute to the fact that we all age and was reflected in the aging “mum” with her cigarette in the corner of her mouth. In retro style the collection consisted of pastel colours, pink slippers, skirts and prints of puddles and grandmas. Moving away from her usual 3D details her collection is moving toward a more user friendly style.

Even though there was no focus on the celebrities, they were far from absent. On the runway we could see Charlotte Thorstvedt, Gitte Witt, Malin Pettersen and for the first time, Jenny Skavlan.

- I’ve always wanted to be a fam-girl. They are all so cool and we had a blast back stage, says Jenny Skavlan to Dagbladet.

Fam Irvoll will be showing her collection at Vauxhal Fashion Scout Friday 14th September in London.
