The hottest Christmas tree ornaments this year seem to be the knitted orbs from the designers Arne & Carlos.
The orbs have previously been sold by Comme des Garçons, but with the release of the knitting recipe book “Julekuler”, they have become accessible for everyone who wants a piece of Nordic design.
The book by the Norwegian-Swedish designer duo has been printed in 30 000 copies, and features 55 knitting patterns ranging from familiar Norwegian motives to new designs. “Julekuler” also contains stories about knitting, and some background information about the patterns.
The book is currently available in Norway, and will be released in the US in 2011.
