Fam Irvoll’s Dick Tracy – AW2011
The show was a real firework of color explosions with strong influence from the 30’s and 40’s Dick Tracy. There were vibes of pop art, Dick Tracy and Cigarettes throughout the entire collection.
She also presented exciting sequins, 3D knitwear and beadwork, colorful dresses, decorated with doll prints, big polka-dots, and skirts with extreme flounces. Stilettos with pistol heels, and some others with hands grasping tight around it, were stepping all over the runway.
Irvoll shows influence of fantasy, cartoons and toys with a twist of independence and wild sexiness with lips and lipstick printed up and down the high quality fabrics. Crazy euphoria make-up with lots of colors and also sequins, made the impression even stronger.
The liveliness and colorful performance were expected, but one surprise this season was the exaggerated use of cigarettes. Female models wore corsets stuffed with cigarette butts, 3D cigarettes and cigarette prints.

For this season Fam Irvoll also introduced menswear. The men’s clothing were layback, also in strong colors and pastels. Comfortable trousers with huge polka-dots and pistol printed outfits signalized a chill and careless attitude.
This collection is really bold and encourages to individual independence! it really says: go out there, party and have a blast!
