Jenny does it again
For the second time the Norwegian brand Bik Bok collaborates with the multitalented Jenny Skavlan, and launches a new collection just in time for Christmas shopping.

- With last year’s successful collaboration and the collection’s success, it was natural for us to continue with Jenny Skavlan as a guest designer. We see Jenny as a great design talent and we have given her full responsibility and free reins to design this collection, says Martin Lien, Marketing Manager at Bik Bok.

We all remember when we first heard that Jenny Skavlan were to launch her first collection for Bik Bok. The excitement was building up and we were not let down.

This year Jenny has been quite busy. She has been recording two movies, worked in two tv-productions and working on her collection.
- It’s been quite busy and I wish I’ve had more time to work on this collection. But I did find time in between all my productions and I’m quite happy, says Jenny Skavlan.

Jenny has grown up being surrounded by fashion. Her grandmother was textile artist and her mother is a costume designer. Jenny herself has studied fashion illustrations and seams at Vera School for Art and Design in Copenhagen (Denmark) for two years.

Jenny Skavlan for Bik Bok

One would think that a girl with so much passion for fashion would dive into the world of fashion. But faith had other plans for Jenny.

At the age of eight she got a role as a red blood cell in the educative movie Jakten på nyresteinen (The hunt for the kidney-stone). It’s fair to say that this was a success, but the “big break through” came when she participated in a commercial for our bellowed Pizza Grandiosa commercial. Almost over night, she became the new IT-girl. Since then she’s been casting in movies like Død Snø, Tomme Tønner 1 & 2 and Fatso.

But Jenny loves fashion and when Bik Bok asked Jenny to be a guest designer, she did not hesitate to say yes. The collection was a success and Bik Bok asked her if she would like to design another collection.

- When they asked me a second time, I knew it was recognition of approval for my design and I took that as a good sign. But if I were to design a second collection, I wanted more control of the process. I did not allow them to select colour or fabrics without me being a part of the process. Being a part of this process was very enjoyable, says Skavlan.

The collection consists of 30 items in warm and soft colours. A keyword for this collection was “party outfit”. So you will definitely find something you can wear on this year’s Christmas dinner party.

Now we will just wait and see what Jenny’s next move will be in the world of fashion.
