Norwegian designers goes for Copenhagen Fashion Week
Veronica B.Vallenes, Helje Hamre og Haanning og Htoon where all nominated for the prestigious fashion award Nåløyet earlier this year, and now they are showing at Scandinavia’s fashion metropolis.
Promoting Norwegian fashion
Norwegian Fashion Institute in collaboration with Henne is working hard to promote the winners of Nåløyet towards the international press and buyers, and is proud of the work they have done for todays show for Haanning og Htoon.
They have received huge response and gotten over 700 participants, including editors and journalists from some of the world’s biggest fashion magazines; Dazed and Confused, Vogue UK, Danish Costume, Grazia and L’Officiel.
- It’s very exciting to see what effect this has. The images circulating the fashion press after the shows, creates very good publicity for the Norwegian designers and Norway as an upcoming fashion nation, says Gisle Mardal from NFI.
CFW rather than OFW
NFI together with the Norwegian embassy in Copenhagen is determined to expose Norway as a fashion nation. Just last year NFI in collaboration with OFW made it possible for another group of talented Norwegian designers to show at CFW, and the effect was immediate.
- Just right after the show, we had buyers, who had watched the show, come straight to our stand at the fashion fair, says Tina H to Norwegian Fashion.
This has not gone unnoticed by other designers. This season designers we normally expect to see at OFW where absent. Instead we see more and more designers showing their collections at CFW.
